I am a central government official, so very rarely do I have to buy medicine from the market. Sometimes due to paucity of time we buy medicines from local chemists like Apollo. Once I went to buy medicine at Jan Aushadhi Kendra and found that almost all the medicines (generic) are available here and that too at about 70 to 80 percent less price. The staff here is also very nice.

I have been able to find generic options for most of the medicines I was looking for. My doctor confirmed that taking generic medicines as substitutes of the prescribed medicines was absolutely fine. There is a huge difference in prices. Glad we found the Pradhanamntri Jan Aushadhi Kendra!
